When it comes to sharing pieces of advice, entrepreneurs are an endless source of wisdom. They are more than willing to give their opinions because they were once on the receiving end of these words of wisdom.
This article explores pieces of advice that changed how some of them see things and made them think differently when approaching entrepreneurship.
Just Start
If you are at the beginning of your journey, often you are confronted with a lot of obstacles, questions that keep you awake at night, analytics, and reports, everything may seem a little bit daunting. What do entrepreneurs have to say about it?
Follow Nike’s lead and “Just Do It”.
“You will gain more knowledge by trying and failing than by reading everything and doing nothing”
Adam Wood, co-founder of Revenue Geeks
He shared the fact that he read over 200 business books before starting his firm, but he learned the most by making mistakes and learning from them on the job.
Experience ends up being the best teacher one can have, each business situation is different, and no amount of pre-written text can prepare you for something unpredictable.

Trust your instincts
You, as an entrepreneur, will intuitively know what your business needs. We tend to ignore our feelings and try to act rational but sometimes there is something beyond our comprehension that gives us “the feeling”.
“Have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow know what you truly want to become”
Steve Jobs
Adapt
If there is something that I could say with all my heart that I have learned in life is the fact that change is the only constant in life. The most successful entrepreneurs learn how to ride the waves, because if they don’t… well, they are left in the dust.
“You can’t solve today’s challenges with yesterday’s thinking”
This quote should resonate through you when you are confronted with problems that you didn’t plan for.
At the rate that our world is changing and evolving, adapting is the only way to stay relevant. Keep an open mind, make changes, and follow trends when it’s good for your business.
Listen
Do you have customers? Good, try listening to them while you still have the chance.
“As long as people complain you should feel safe, it means they still want to do business with you. Worry when they stop talking”
Customers who give feedback should be treated like royalty because they took the time to tell you what their opinion is. Time is the most important resource, and most of us buy things and never think of leaving feedback so appreciate the people that take the time to do so.
Get Help
As an aspiring new entrepreneur, you need to wear many suits, especially when getting your business started.
Most new entrepreneurs hold off when thinking about hiring employees because they don’t want to spend their money, or they think it’s more work to train them than actually doing it themselves.
You should start by hiring someone to do things you would rather not do, handing someone part of the work gives you double the workforce, allowing you to focus on more strategic and critical business decisions.
While you’re at it, hire people more intelligent than you and listen to them. This aspect is explained in “7 Habits of Highly Effective People” by Stephen Covey.
Also, before you start hiring you should see if your business has aspects that can be automated.
So, what have we learned?
Entrepreneurs like to help other entrepreneurs but remember that your journey will be unique, and you will be confronted with all kinds of challenges.
Is good to listen, read and do research but when it will come down to the journey you must be able to adapt and overcome.
As always, it was a pleasure sharing stories with you. See you at the next one.
